International Ice Carousel Spinning

This March 14-16, 2025,  the Northern Maine Ice Busters will host the FIRST INTERNATIONAL ICE CAROUSEL on the St. John River between Van Buren, Maine, and St. Leonard, New Brunswick. This is not just a record-breaking attempt—it’s a celebration of innovation, teamwork, and cross-border collaboration. Our team will carve a massive spinning carousel from the frozen river, blending engineering, and winter fun to bring two nations together.

2025 International Ice Carousel Attempt

The Northern Maine Ice Busters (NMIB) are gearing up for their most ambitious project yet: the 2025 International Ice Carousel Attempt. Scheduled for March 2025, this groundbreaking event will be held on the St. John River, bridging Van Buren, Maine, and St. Leonard, New Brunswick.

This attempt is unique not only for its scale but also for its international collaboration. NMIB plans to carve and rotate a massive 207-foot-wide ice carousel, marking the first time an ice carousel will span two countries. This effort symbolizes unity and community spirit across borders. NMIB aims to attract visitors from both the U.S. and Canada, fostering cross-border connections and celebrating the region’s rich winter traditions.

This international endeavor builds on NMIB’s legacy of record-breaking achievements and their mission to inspire community engagement through extraordinary feats.
