ow are the trail conditions in Maine's Aroostook County? Each week this list is updated on a Wednesday during the regular ski season. Typically in most years we are both cross country and downhill skiing before Christmas and until April. Here, we love a good snow dance and look forward to each snowfall!

The purpose of the Wednesday Ski Report is to provide visitors with a high level overview of three alpine ski centers and 26 Nordic ski areas. We're rolling out the white carpet as this is a place you can simply just be.

Most Recent: 2/19/2025 Wednesday Ski Report

BigRock Mountain - 3 of 3 lifts open | 100% of trails open. Open 9A-4 PM today and all February Break. Currently laying down the perfect corduroy.  Winds have diminished, temperatures in the mid-20s.  All 27 trails are open, the quad chairlift to the top, beginner triple trailer, magic carpet. Groomed are Comet, Buds, Family, Galaxy, Snake, Milky Way, Hooch, Bunny and Outer Orbit .  Powder everywhere else. Detailed BigRock Mountain conditions.

Lonesome Pine Trails - Open all school vacation week: Wednesday 10-9:00 PM, Thursday 10-4:00 PM, Friday 10-9:00 PM, Saturday 9-9:00 PM, Sunday 9-4:00 PM! Conditions are fantastic all trails open. Rentals available.


Quoggy Jo Ski Center - 100% open - Wednesday through Sunday 10-4:00 PM, 10-8:00 PM Saturday! Free lift tickets Thursday (sponsored by McCain's). Come visit. Rentals available.


Fort Kent Outdoor Center - groomed corduroy blowing wind is making for drifts. hope to groom again 2/20. Most all was groomed 2/17 and plan to groom. rentals available all of school vacation week. Detailed Fort Kent Outdoor Center conditions.


Four Season Trail Association - Skate trails and classic are all open and groomed on 2/19. All Skate and classic ski trails are open with great or super conditions. Rentals available each day of school vacation. Detailed Four Season Trail Association conditions.


✅ Nordic Heritage Outdoor Center - Closed until further notice.


Aroostook State Park - After the recent snows that we received, the trail conditions for skiing have been resurrected. Most trails have been groomed with set track. The conditions are great. We will be out grooming today to take care of some of the snow drifting that is taking place. The snowshoe trails are open and ready to be explored. Please be advised, that we do not allow snowshoers, walkers, or dogs on any of the ski trails. Detailed Aroostook State Park conditions.


✅ Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge - groomed 2/18 and tracks set! Blowing snow is happening - but we will groom again if needed. A snowy owl was spotted here 2/17


✅ Caribou Highschool Trails - Fantastic conditions, groomed 2/18/25. Warming hut open daily until 4:30 PM. $5 trail donations please


Linneus SnoSports - Due to some mechanical issues with our snowmobile groomers, our ski trails have not been groomed since the storm. We are working on this and will get to them as soon as we can.

Lime Rock Golf Club - will groom in time for this Saturday!


Houlton River Front Park - We are setting tracks and grooming on 2/20/25!


✅ Houlton Community Park - Houlton Community Park will groom on 2/22 rental equipment trailer may be open this weekend 1-3:00 PM


✅ Split Cedar Trails - Parking area is plowed, new signs in place, and it plan to groom the night of 2/19/25 groomed for classic cross country.


Penobscot River Trails - We groomed 2/18 and will again on the morning of 2/21. Rentals available for free every day Detailed Penobscot River Trails conditions.

1/8/2025 Wednesday Ski Report

BigRock Mountain - Open with the new lift! 6 of 29 trails open, three lifts running. The "Family Trail" will open on 1/8. "Wicked Cheap Wednesday's" are back for $25 lift tickets and $15 rentals 2-8:00PM every week. Detailed BigRock Mountain conditions.

Lonesome Pine Trails - Open! Conditions are swell from the cold, but new snow is needed. All lifts running and the lodge is open for food and drinks. Season passes still available. Night Skiing has been awesome!

Quoggy Jo Ski Center - After school ski program registration is open now - parent night is January 8 6:30-8 PM and January 9 6-8 PM. Season passes on sale. Snow needed.

Fort Kent Outdoor Center - The weather is staying cold, and conditions remain pretty good. The 5km loop was groomed yesterday and is in remarkably good shape, though not quite good enough for race skis. Volunteer Way and the paved roller loop were groomed last weekend, and skiing on the roller loop is very good, while Volunteer way is pretty good. We still need a little more snow to open up the rest of our red barn trails as well as the green bean, so keep doing your snow dance! 5" of new snow on 1/8 Detailed Fort Kent Outdoor Center conditions.

Four Season Trail Association - Open! 5" of new snow 1/8. The conditions have not be great for Nordic ski races, but Four Seasons will be hosting a ski and soup on Saturday 1/11/25 these small flurries help keep the trails nicer though! Detailed Four Season Trail Association conditions.

❌ Nordic Heritage Outdoor Center - Closed until further notice as the venue is currently listed for sale.

Aroostook State Park - snow needed for skiing, open for snowshoeing. Detailed Aroostook State Park conditions.

✅ Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge - groomed 1/8 and tracks set! 5" of new snow!

❌ Caribou Highschool Trails - closed this week to the public to retain snow.

Linneus SnoSports - lost our snow, snow needed for skiing. Snow coming 1/8

1/1/2025 Wednesday Ski Report

✅ Open for the season, following school vacation schedule. Conditions soft, more snow needed. Detailed Fort Kent Outdoor Center Conditions.

✅ Lonesome Pine Trails in Fort Kent has opened for the season lodge, rentals, and lifts are all operating. Following a school vacation open schedule. All trails now open. Lonesome Pine Trails.

✅ BigRock Mountain in Mars Hill opened for the season just in time for Christmas School Break. Three trails open. Detailed BigRock Mountain Trail Conditions.

✅ Linneus Snowsports has groom 8 miles of cross country ski trails with drag. Great condition, but rain expected.

❌ Riverfront Park in Houlton has not been groomed yet for this season. Detailed trail conditions Houlton Riverfront Park.
